13 Die Due to Not Wearing Cloth Masks
The following Twitter article would be better titled as I have titled this blog post. Hey, I’m just trying to follow the standard of reputable news sources.

I know, my title doesn’t really illustrate what the content eventually describes, but it got you to click on the link to take a closer look, right? Isn’t that the point? It really doesn’t matter if the heading truly fits the content. It only matters to “get the click.” I was trying to come up with other titles that would better depict the actual media bias that is so prevalent on what is deemed “mainstream” media. I have found that there are few media sources that are what could be called “unbiased.” They all have their agenda. They all have their narrative.
This truth really got me annoyed this weekend with the new rioting that was spurred on by this media scourge of headlines that fail to reveal ANY truth in their stories. Their only worth – is a click. It is terrible to see people encouraged to protest and riot before even seeing the video. The video that I am talking about led to headlines such as “Black man shot in the back by police….” ARTICLE HERE AND comments from political leaders saying things like “This type of systemic racism will never be defeated.”
Well, THAT’s true, especially since there is little evidence that the video depicted anything other than police attempting to take a violent felon into custody – and the felon failing to comply. Instead, the media, politicians, and the wanted fugitive get to claim that racism exists and this is proof. Jumping to these conclusions does not help the cause of reducing racism. It actually will do the opposite. MORE people will be upset about the media depicting a non-compliant violent fugitive from justice as the victim in our society. Do you really think that describing him as a victim is going to turn people’s views for your cause? It’s a flat out lie!
OH, unfortunately, for some it will. But I believe it will ultimately turn more away from your cause. MORE people will be upset that a person of color was made a martyr because of the media’s depiction of events. It may take time, but the full story will eventually come out and show that law enforcement were DOING THEIR JOB! It will be ignored that the fate of the “victim” in this case was brought about by his own actions. First, by committing violence against his family, and then by failing to comply with the lawful orders of law enforcement attempting to bring him to justice.
I don’t know, maybe at some point in the future, articles will be titled with more accurate depictions of stories like – “Law enforcement stop domestic abuser from endangering his children by shooting him instead of allowing him to begin a reckless car chase.” or “Wanted fugitive fails to quietly be taken into custody – leading to shots being fired.”
Nah, never gonna happen. Police are always in the wrong. At least that is what the media wants you to think. So, the narrative of systemic racism continues, while breaking laws and attacking police is encouraged. I blame the media for our current situation. They stir the flames of hate into action that burns cities to the ground – all in the hopes of reducing racism. Is it working? I don’t think it is.
Maybe I’m wrong about all of this. Maybe, these police, who value justice over crime; who serve and protect; who pick a career that thrusts them into the most violent of circumstances – maybe just maybe, they set out to do harm that day on a black man.
Instead of jumping to a conclusion about a person’s beliefs, or burning down a city because the news says it’s OK, maybe we should take a deep breath and look inward at ourselves. Everyone has biases. Everyone has prejudice. EVERYONE! I seem to remember something that I used to hear a lot when it came to blaming others – “when you point your finger at someone – you have three other fingers pointing right back at yourself.”
I am gonna sit here and wait to see if justice is served.
Be safe, stay healthy, and I’ll see you at the range.
